Winter, Spring and Summer Leagues Open for Registration
13 February 2022 @ 2:42 PM by Chris Surgeoner

Hello Footy Fans,

Toronto Footy Sevens have just opened registration for our 2022 soccer league lineup in Brampton and Mississauga.

We've got our widest ever selection of leagues, with Coed and Men's indoor leagues and our new OUTDOOR spring leagues, getting you back outside and onto the field before any other organization. Add to that our new 11-a-side leagues and summer 7s, and you have the widest range of leagues that we have ever offered. And all leagues come with our usual register with confidence guarantee: we will issue a full refund for any games that can't be completed due to any future COVID shutdowns.

Winter Indoor Leagues - Begin Late February/Early March

Play indoor 7s at the fantastic Mississauga Sports Dome, just 15 minutes drive from our home field at Heart Lake Secondary School.

Team and individual registration is available and you can choose from:

You can find full details of all of our leagues on the Toronto Footy Sevens Website.

NEW FOR 2022 - Early Spring Outdoor Leagues

After another winter of shutdowns and closures, we're sure many of you are itching to get back to playing outside as soon as possible. Our new outdoor spring leagues kick-off at our premium turf-field before most of the fields in the city are even open, We have men's and coed leagues kicking off as early as April 3rd and registration is now open for the following leagues:

As always you can secure your team's space with a $300 deposit: find full details on the Toronto Footy Sevens Website

Summer 2022 - Coed & Men's 7-a-side, NEW 90-minute games and 11-a-side

After 2 years of disruption, we are finally looking forward to being back out on the field with a full summer league program, all played on our premium turf-fields at Heart Lake Secondary School.

Many of you already participate in our men's and coed 7-a-side leagues, and this year we've added longer 90-minute games into the mix to give you more options than ever before:

New for 2022 - Men's 11-a-side Leagues. If you love 11-a-sides, but could do without traveling all over the region to away games at a succession of increasingly dodgy grass fields, we have a premium alternative for you. The same day, same location every week on a FIFA-grade premium turf field. Cut out the away days and worn waterlogged pitches - every game is a home game. And with a competitive pricing structure, why play anywhere else? See below for details?

As always you can find full details and registration at the Toronto Footy Sevens website or email admin@torontofootysevens.com if you have any questions,

See you back out on the field,

The Footy Sevens Team

Update on COVID and Leagues
3 January 2022 @ 6:21 AM by Joel Convery

Happy New Year everyone,

We just wanted to update you all on what is happening at the various venues as we come out of the break and into our first games of 2022.

We are obviously seeing unprecedented numbers of COVID cases, and we were waiting for the latest update from the Province to confirm if there would be a shutdown. The Province has not closed the schools or any businesses or added any new restrictions on recreational sports.

Since April 2020 through the various peaks and troughs of the pandemic and the four previous shutdowns, we have had exactly the same position when it comes to playing or not playing. We rely on the guidelines from the Province of Ontario and from OPH and follow them to the letter. If they close down recreational sports the leagues are paused until we are allowed to play again. If there are restrictions, we follow them and enforce them. If we are allowed to play, we play. We will continue to do that for 2022. As of right now, neither the Province nor OPH has issued directives to close recreational sports. The leagues, as of now, have not been canceled.

Indoor venues are remaining open, adhering to whichever provincial guidelines apply and holding us to our contracts: therefore games will continue.

Of course, all of this could change if there is another update from the Province or OPH, and we will keep everyone in each league informed within a few hours of any announcement that has a significant impact.

Whatever we decide, we know that some of you won't agree with our decision. We respect that and appreciate your understanding that there isn't any single solution that gives everyone what they want. We've heard every viewpoint over the past few weeks from "Schools, stores and sports should all have been completely shut-down weeks ago" to "I shouldn't be told if and when I can play or not and shouldn't have to provide vaccination information". And all opinions in between.

QR Code Now Required for Proof of Vaccination

Don't forget that the standards for proof of vaccination will change on Tuesday, January 4th. "Beginning January 4, 2022, Ontarians will be required to use their enhanced vaccine certificate with the official QR code. Vaccine receipts without a QR code will no longer be accepted as valid proof of vaccination." This applies to people who are vaccinated and to those with an exemption certificate. DOMES WILL NOT ALLOW ENTRY TO ANYONE UNABLE TO PROVIDE THE QR CODE.

You can find details of how to download your certificate with QR code here

Take care and have a Happy New Year,

The Footy Sevens Team
