Issues with Outlook / Hotmail and other Microsoft email accounts
13 March 2018 @ 8:52 AM by Joel Convery

We had some enquiries recently from users who have outlook / hotmail accounts (and other email addresses falling under the Microsoft umbrella).

Please read this full message if you think you aren't receiving our emails.

They had been complaining that certain emails (team notices, fixture reminders) weren't reaching their inbox anymore, not even in the junk or spam folder.  We had no bouncebacks on these emails and by all measures at our end they have been delivered successfully.

Microsoft has a number of extra measures in place that filter emails before they reach the user, things we have ZERO control over and it can get a little frustrating trying to track it down.  We have raised a support request, but who knows if anything will come of that.

If you think you are having these issues we suggest you add the domain to the list of safe senders in your mail configuration as this seems to help.

I was going to send an email out about this, but the irony / paradox that it wouldn't reach those that need to do this was not lost.

New Turf Soccer Field In Brampton
3 April 2017 @ 5:37 AM by Joel Convery

Peel District School Board have announced the construction of a brand new turf soccer, rugby and lacrosse field at Heart Lake Secondary School, Conestoga Drive in Brampton.

The refurbishment of the existing soccer field will include the new turf field, LED floodlighting system, new six-lane running track and upgraded bleachers.

As well as the full-sized soccer pitch, complete with lacrosse and rugby markings, the field is equipped with a removable divider netting system to split the field into four 60mx30m small sided soccer fields complete with field markings and smaller nets.

The field surface will be Fieldturf’s Revolution 360 turf, designed for the best possible combination of playability, safety and durability.  It meets both the FIFA Quality and FIFA Quality Pro testing standards and has been installed on the home fields of the Seattle Sounders, New England Revolution and Portland Timbers of the MLS and both Superbowl teams, the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons. A full LED lighting system will ensure consistent lighting levels after dark and a renovated bleacher area completes the facility.

In addition being used for a variety of sports for the Heart Lake Secondary School pupils and the local community, Footy Sevens will be running coed, men’s and women’s 7-a-side recreational soccer leagues as well as programs for children and youths. The field will also be available for rental to various sports and community groups.
